Visit to Waco Schools
On April 16, 08, I presented to the Waco High School History classes in Wayland, Iowa and the Crawfordsville sixth graders in Crawfordsville, Iowa. Teachers, Hanna McDowell, Mrs. Kliewer, Mrs.Reichenbach, and Weir prepared their students well.
The visit was coordinated and set up by Bert Miller, media specialist, in the Waco Schools.
Mr. Miller, himself having served in the military, helped prepare students for the content of this primary source presentation. All of the students were very attentive and had good questions.
Veterans, Larry Black and Ralph Osborn attended the Crawfordsville sessions and contributed some of their experiences from being in the military in Vietnam. Ralph was a friend of Stan’s during their teenage years. Ralph also contributed three books to the Crawfordsville school.
Thanks to all who made this possible.
